deSide Client v3.1.5 released (as a hotfix for v3.1.4 – which will no longer renew)

On 27th March 2020 we release two simultaneous upgrades:

Upgrade to the deSide Client

v3.1.5 (as a hotfix for v3.1.4)

Upgrade to the NEM Ticker

v1.0.3 (as a hotfix for prior versions)

We released the deSide client v3.1.5 to address a problem with the licensing with v3.1.4 and beforehand.

1)   This licensing problem has come about because a URL used in licensing the software is no longer available to us … which will mean clients running v3.1.4 will be no longer able to renew their licences to the deSide Client until they upgrade to a newer version.

2)  This hotfix release was made to ensure minimal disruption to clients (i.e. same version of the .NET framework and same versions of SSL certificates and the like).

All clients have been asked to upgrade their copies of deSide Client to at least v3.1.5.

We released the NEM Ticker v1.0.3 to address a problem with the licensing with prior versions.

1)   This licensing problem has come about because a URL used in licensing the software is no longer available to us … which will mean clients running older versions will be no longer able to renew their licences until they upgrade to a newer version.

2)  This hotfix release was made to ensure minimal disruption to clients (i.e. same version of the .NET framework and same versions of SSL certificates and the like).

All clients have been asked to upgrade their copies of NEM Ticker to at least v1.0.3.

You can download the Hotfix installer for deSide Client v3.1.5 here.

—————

Note it has since been superseded (such as by deSide Client v4.8.0.60))

You can download the Hotfix installer for NEM ticker v1.0.3 here.

—————

Note it has since been superseded (such as by NEM Ticker v4.8.0.60))

This version has the same pre-requisites as the v3.1.4 it replaced… therefore is a very simple upgrade to apply:

1)   It does not require the installation of deSide updater v5.5 (released Jan 2020)

… but note that continuing to run the old updater means that you’re likely to be receiving misleading data when AEMO publishes P5 Predispatch prices including forecast Intervention.

2)  This also uses the older .NET framework 4.0

… but this does not allow for newer SSL certificates and the improved security that represents.

This version has the same pre-requisites as the version of the Ticker it replaced… therefore is a very simple upgrade to apply.

Note that the upgrade to v4.8.0.60 (Client and Ticker) were released in May 2020.
